Between the Devil and the Deep Sea

Daphne, the protagonist, becomes a pirate after developing a deep hatred for the royal family, who destroyed her house and tore her away from her mother while they were both still alive. While carrying out missions with her crew, she encounters Hyman Noraiden, a naval officer. After an unexpected turn of events leads them to spend a passionate night together, the two return to their respective lives. However, as if fate itself is playing with them, their paths continue to cross. Eventually, Hyman discovers Daphne’s true identity as the Arbiter of Salvation. At the moment Daphne finds herself on the brink of death, she summons her mentor, Teren, and receives his help. In return, following his demand, she and her crew join the revolutionary army. As she continues her activities with the revolutionaries, Daphne learns the hidden truth behind events she had never known, plunging her into deep despair. Although she is shaken by conflicts with her pirate crew and the looming threat of the revolutionary army’s collapse, Daphne gains maturity, insight, and resolve through her journey. In the end, she overcomes these conflicts and finds true companions. Together with her allies, Daphne confronts the challenges that lie ahead and comes to understand what she has truly desired all along. Finally, she faces the queen and achieves the revenge she has always dreamed of.
